We’re getting closer and closer to having our new baby girl. Sydney just can’t wait for her baby sister to come. Here’s a picture of her hugging her baby sister.

This was actually a month ago, but while I was writing posts today, I thought I’d throw this one in, because it was kind of funny.

Sydney had pretty long hair – here’s one of the last pictures we had of her longer hair:
Cup of coffee

In the middle of November one day, I came home from work right when Sydney was waking up. I love going in to get her when she wakes up from a nap, so I went in and knelt by her big girl bed. She wakes up kind of slow, so I was playing with her hair while she was waking up. All of a sudden I realized her hair was a lot shorter than it was the day before! Emily had come in behind me to see when I would notice, and started laughing when she saw my surprise. She had her first haircut back in August of 2007, so it had been more than 2 years.

I’m sure every parent thinks their little girl is beautiful, but I just had to add this picture of my beautiful Sydney.

Sydney likes to paint and color. She also loves to be video-taped and then watch the video right away. One night she asked me to video her painting – I was recording her painting and talking to me, when all of a sudden she got stopped short:

No David!

Sydney loves to read. She can sit by herself and read books for a half hour or more. Some of the books she likes to read over and over again are the “No, David!” books. She has them down pretty well, so it really looks like she’s reading them.

In the video below, she is “reading” the “David Goes To School” book. If you go to the video’s page on youtube, you can turn on captions to see exactly what she is saying.
