We’re getting closer and closer to having our new baby girl. Sydney just can’t wait for her baby sister to come. Here’s a picture of her hugging her baby sister.
Paityn Grace Hannah was born on January 5. Everything went pretty quick - Emily started having contractions around 5am, we started getting the grandma's involved, made it to the hospital at 8am, and Paityn was born at 10am! Sydney was born in the middle of the night - I have to say I prefer a morning birth much more! She's such...

I don’t remember this happening when Emily was pregnant with Sydney, but a few days ago, the baby was having hiccups. It was so fun to feel – they were so quick, and it felt like she jumped each time she had a hiccup. I think they lasted for about 7 minutes – it was very cute!
This is one of those proud, proud moments of parents (or at least, we are very proud of Sydney)!
We were down in Texas for Christmas, and Sydney just decided to take a couple of steps to her Uncle Aaron! We were pretty surprised, and Sydney was very happy and proud of herself.
Today we took her outside and let her walk to us – she walked all around, just loving the applause we were giving her!
Sydney is learning to play peek-a-boo, and she thinks it is pretty funny. She’ll hold her blankie over her head for the longest time, and then slowly bring it down until her eyes are barely uncovered. She has a smile on her face every time she peeks.
She is also really starting to love it when I come home from work. Emily brings her to the door so she can see me when I come through the door – she is very excited to see me. She has an excited scream that she does that I can hear when I’m unlocking the door. It’s pretty special to have someone want to see you so much!
She really likes to jump too, with our help. I’ll hold onto her waist and she’ll push off with her legs and I’ll give her a little boost. She thinks it is so fun, and usually giggles the whole time.
The other day she realized that she could pull her feet up to her mouth and started putting her toes in her mouth. She was so funny – she kept putting her toes in her mouth and then looking at us to see what we thought. Here’s a picture:

How do you write about a sound or a noise? I don't know exactly how to describe it, but I'll give it a shot.
Sydney makes a wheezing, whisper-noise with her voice whenever she's in the bathroom (she must like the acoustics there). It's like she is saying Ahhhh, but whispering it – it kind of whistles too. It's so hard to describe – but it is so cute when she does it. She can be playing loudly and then she'll be totally quiet and make that noise. She has the slightest hint of a smile too. It's just so random when she decides to make the noise that I'm not sure if we'll ever be able to get it on tape or on video. Once we bring the video camera in she gets very distracted.
It's such cute noise, whenever Emily or I are thinking about Sydney, we try our best to make the noise and it always cracks us up. Only Sydney can make that noise, and it's funny how it's becoming such a special memory of her.
