Paityn Grace Hannah was born on January 5. Everything went pretty quick - Emily started having contractions around 5am, we started getting the grandma's involved, made it to the hospital at 8am, and Paityn was born at 10am! Sydney was born in the middle of the night - I have to say I prefer a morning birth much more!

Paityn HATES her car seat. That shouldn’t surprise us because Sydney did too.
Want to know what it’s like to ride in the car with us? Here you go – put this on a loop for 45 minutes while you drive, and see how insane you are when you arrive at your destination…

She’s such a sweet little baby – she feels so small when I hold her.
Because of H1N1 precautions, Sydney (all children under the age of 5) was not allowed to come into the maternity ward. It was a little sad that she couldn’t come and visit. Luckily, the nursery windows are in the main area outside the maternity ward, so Sydney was able to come up to the window and see Paityn through the windows. When she saw her, she said, “Oh! I love baby Paityn!” Emily was also able to come out and see Sydney. When Sydney saw her mommy, she looked at her hospital gown and said, “I like your dress, Mommy!” Sydney and Mommy got to spend a bit of time together, and we gave Sydney a present – a baby that cries and laughs, with a blanket, bottle, etc. Sydney loved being a “mommy” too.

I don’t remember this happening when Emily was pregnant with Sydney, but a few days ago, the baby was having hiccups. It was so fun to feel – they were so quick, and it felt like she jumped each time she had a hiccup. I think they lasted for about 7 minutes – it was very cute!

We are pregnant with another girl! The due date is January 18th. I’m kind of glad we will be having another girl because I think it will be easier with clothes and other things that we already have from when Sydney was a baby. We are planning on moving Sydney into the other bedroom and giving this baby Sydney’s old room.
The time is flying, and I know we will have another baby in the house before you know it!
