Sydney

Last night, Sydney did and said a lot of funny things – I just had to write them down.

  • We were eating some caramel corn, and she told me she had some stuck in her teeth. I told her I did, and she asked to see. When I opened my mouth, I accidentally gleeked, and she said, “You splashed me, Daddy!”
  • Sydney was playing Skee-ball on my iPod touch. She gave it to Emily to play, and I teased her and said, “Uh oh – Mommy’s gonna keep it for a really long time!” – Sydney got worried and went and took it right back from Emily.
  • Sydney and I haven’t really wrestled much since my back surgery. I was laying on my back last night and grabbed Sydney and started wrestling with her. She was having a blast, and Emily told me, “She’s been waiting for this night for a long time.” Sydney apparently heard her, because for the next 10 minutes while we wrestled, she kept shouting, “I’ve been waiting for this night!”
  • While we were wrestling, she got all serious and said, “Your whiskers are bothering me, Daddy.”

A lot of them you probably had to be there, but I wanted to write them down so we could remember. It’s so amazing to see her grow up, right in front of us!

You like this light?

I’m not sure when it started, but aparently Emily said, under her breath while stopped at a stop light – “Oh – I do NOT like this light!”. Sydney picked up on it, so the next light they came to, Sydney asked, “you like this light?”

That was probably 3 weeks ago, and now whenever we come up to a stoplight, or are anywhere near a stoplight, Sydney shouts out, “you like this light?”. And you know how two year olds are – if you don’t answer their question right away, they keep asking until you answer. We can’t go anywhere without her asking if we like this light at the top of her lungs. Not sure when this trend will be over, but I just had to store it in the memory books!
