Paityn Grace Hannah was born on January 5. After this week, Emily will be in her 40th week of pregnancy, and our baby will be ready to be born at any time. Fully developed, full sized – we can’t wait!

Our baby will be between 17-23 inches long, and will weigh between 6-10 pounds. Her brain is continuing to develop as well. Researchers believe that when babies are ready to be born, they send a chemical signal through the placenta, which tells the mother’s body that it is time to have the baby.

Our baby should be 6 pounds at this point. She will be practicing her breathing, stretching, and kicking. Her body fat should be about 8%, hopefully growing to 15% by the time she is born. Her immune system will also be strengthening as well.

Our baby will weigh about 6 pounds this week, and her length will be about 20.5 inches. Many babies start to slow down in their movements at this point as they become more cramped for space.
